“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth, make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise,” Ps 98:4.
Yes, we are slowly but surely getting back to our good old days of gathering and praying in the church. We had a tough time due to Covid, but now we are blessed to be alive and graced to be coming to the house of the Lord to encounter our living God. The light at the end of the tunnel shines brightly on us to gather and give thanks to God as Eucharistic people.
So many good things have happened in our parish in the midst of this unexpected pandemic: We have a new finance council chair and members. We have a new stewardship council and chair. We were blessed with a good, joyful Deacon who is our new ministry coordinator, and of communications. We trained new safe environment liaison officers, appointed a new pro-life chair, and have a new Parish Council chair. A religious sister was assigned to OLGC for our school and parish. We have enlarged and empowered our school board. A new bulletin and web team has been formed. We were blessed, once again, with a very experienced and efficient parochial vicar. Many members were added to all our ministries, and the list goes on and on.
I can only make a joyful noise, as the psalmist says. My difficult days in this parish have passed: joyful and peaceful days have come. I want to express my thanks to you, dear parishioners, for you have been an outstanding presence and a strong witness to me and the world as believers and faithful followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. You have empowered me to be your pastor in OLGC during these first few years of my ministry here. Thank you all for your stewardship and deep faith, and piety. May Our Lady of Good Counsel intercede for us all.
