It has been a year ago since the introduction of the first copy of the revised OLGC Parish bulletin. In the July 1-2, 2018 edition of the bulletin, Fr. Pascual (From the Pastor’s Desk), wrote: “After all the suggestions, planning and revisions, we finally realized this long awaited tool for the New Evangelization. The Parish bulletin has always been a source of information for any events that occur in our church. This bulletin will give us more information that will bring the joy of the Gospel to all and enhance our personal encounter with Christ.”
We are grateful to Chance Billmeyer, the seminarian who was on his summer apostolate internship, who paved the way to the bulletin revision; to Winnie Lee, our Parish Secretarial Assistant, who conscientiously inputs sections of the bulletin to include inserts; and Arlene Bali, layout artist, who in no small way is instrumental in the overall visual appearance of the bulletin. Yours truly collects and edits articles and coordinates with ministries on relevant topics
for the bulletin.
Through the past year, parishioners learned in-depth about individual ministries that were featured in the Ministry Corner, highlighting their mission, accomplishments and testimonies from members. Ministry members generously and openly shared their personal testimonies during “lay witnessing” after each Mass and these testimonies were published in the weekly bulletin for several months. Parishioners are being informed and educated on Stewardship through weekly write-ups. We now get to know what is happening at OLGC School through “School News.” Many parishioners find Fr. Pascual’s weekly message and Fr. Alfred’s catechesis corner both inspiring and spiritually educational.
The timely distribution of the bulletin is not possible without the help of the Sunshine Angels (group that coordinates weekday breakfast fellowship) whose members stuff bulletin inserts every Friday; and Cliff Duro who prepares the bulletins for distribution after each Mass.
