Our school is celebrating this joyous season as we are reminded of God’s power to turn sadness into joy. We continue to feel the support of community as we journey with Christ. In the past few months, our ohana was blessed by new and outstanding events, and we frequently received great news about student academic & character achievements! We express our warm gratitude for your prayers and support for your parish school.
Mahalo for your interest in our student activities, fundraisers, and service projects. All shareholders take our community members’ opinions and suggestions very seriously and we try our best to accommodate every- one. We listened to suggestions for a repeat of the Fellowship Food Truck event. Parishioner, Bernadette Cabe, shared the wonderful idea about the 99pledges.com fundraiser and were all a bit skeptical of this new kind of project, but in the end, we achieved awesome success! Thank you, Bernadette, for thinking of ways to support your parish school! We read about the appreciation families have for our participation in community service and social justice projects. We will soon begin our fourth quarter service project to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through Pennies for Patients. I ask you to continue to share your creative ideas to support our mission. We worked together to complete restoration projects, fulfilling necessities for our children, providing performances by the Royal Hawaiian Band and Hawaii Lion Dance Association, celebration of the Holy Day of Obligation-Ash Wednesday, and the launch of the Korean Club! We were also very blessed by the arrival of our new clergy member, Deacon Ray Lamb & his wife, Tyra. Our faculty & staff were al- ready influenced and rejuvenated by their shining faith and teachings at the retreat last month.
We are looking forward to Our Lady’s feast day on April 26th and invite you to join our celebration for her at our Spring Food Truck & Craft Fair celebration on Friday, April 27th at 3:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.
My family thanks you for your gracious welcomeof our precious baby, Amelia! We have received love through thoughtful gifts and we were told of the prayers that were spoken for her safe delivery in January. We are deeply touched and excited to be a part of the Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish community.
