OLGC VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DINNER
If you admire and wonder who are behind the well-kept gardens in our church grounds, the crisp, laundered altar linens, the floral decorations, cars neatly parked on the church parking lot on busy days - thank our selfless volunteers.
Thank also the many volunteers who work behind the scenes to make OLGC a vibrant parish. These are the unsung heroes and the backbone of ministries who generously give their time, talents and treasure without compensation in service to God and the community.
To show appreciation and gratitude for our volunteers, the parish hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on October 10th at the Okinawan Center.
Certificates of Appreciation were given to volunteers who have been serving for 25 years and beyond. A special recognition was awarded to a stalwart parishioner, Elaine Yamashita, who has been with our parish for over 40 years and who has served relentlessly in various ministries mentoring and guiding members.
The gathering offered the opportunity for volunteers to share their talents in singing and dancing - hilarious Sister Act rendition of “I Will Follow Him” sang by ministry leaders and volunteers, a hula number and a song by Fr. Pascual . Aside from the delicious buffet dinner, raffle prizes were drawn and the evening ended in the spirit of a happy memorable occasion. MAHALO TO ALL VOLUNTEERS!
